7-Eleven Spotlighting Unique Sip & Snack Creations

IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven Inc. is putting its strength in snacking on display with promotions customers can sink their teeth into.

The convenience store retailer is running a "Hacks on Snacks" promotion that spotlights unique snack and beverage combinations available at 7-Eleven stores.

Each week throughout May and June, the retailer is offering members of its 7Rewards loyalty program up to two new digital coupons on beverages, snacks or both via its mobile app, according to the Path to Purchase Institute, which was recently purchased by RFE Investment Partners, the parent company of Convenience Store News.

Examples of "Hacks on Snacks" offers include a Slurpee beverage free with the purchase of a Nestlé's SweeTarts candy, as well as a free 7-Eleven chicken sandwich with the purchase of PepsiCo's new 1893 cola beverage. All of the offers introduced so far expire on July 5. Mondelēz International Inc., Ferrara Candy Co. and The Hershey Co. are other manufacturers participating in the promotion.

In stores, side panels adjacent to Slurpee machines instruct shoppers to text "hacks" to a promotional number to receive text alerts about new deals.

7-Eleven is boosting the digital offers by publishing recipe videos that relate to current deals on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. To watch the videos, click here.

The latest snack promotion comes as 7-Eleven also prepares to take a bite out of the Discovery Channel's Shark Week, which airs June 26 through July 3, as CSNews Online previously reported. Shark swag includes Slurpee shark straws, 28-ounce shark bite cups, 32-ounce fishbowl cups and "Stay Hot" shark-themed coffee cups, along with Blue Raspberry-flavored Slurpee drinks, 7-Select Blue Gummi Sharks and shark-themed doughnuts.

The collaboration with Discovery Channel and its "Shark 'n' Awe" Shark Week programming is part of the yearlong Slurpee Fiftee celebration.

Irving-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises and licenses more than 10,700 stores in the United States and Canada. Globally, nearly 60,000 7-Eleven stores operate in 17 countries.
