7-Eleven Testing Hot Dog Flavored Chips

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven is offering a new snack product that's a bit odd for the U.S. market -- hot dog flavored potato chips, according to a report by NewsyType.com.

In what appears to be a test-market offering, the Dallas-based convenience store chain is leveraging its Big Bite hot dog brand in four new chip flavors: hot dog, relish, ketchup and mustard. The Big Bite Hot Dog Potato Chips do not contain any meat products.

While these flavors are a first for the American market, such varieties of potato chips are common in many global markets. Bacon, mayonnaise, lemon, paprika, dill pickle, gravy and even curry flavored potato chips can be found around the world, the report noted.

As of noon today, the Big Bite Hot Dog Potato Chips had 52 fans on Facebook.
