7-Eleven's Slurpee Debuts First Cane Sugar Variety
IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven Inc. is teaming up once again with Jones Soda Co. for the launch of a limited-edition Jones Orange & Cream Slurpee flavor at participating 7-Eleven locations.
For a limited time, beginning the week of Nov. 1, the Jones Orange & Cream Slurpee will be sold exclusively at 400 7-Eleven convenience stores across the states of Washington and Oregon. This flavor marks the first-ever cane sugar product for 7-Eleven’s frozen-beverage brand.
“We are thrilled to offer Jones on the iconic 7-Eleven Slurpee in our home market,” Jones Soda Co. Chief Operating Officer Eric Chastain said.
Jones Soda will launch a billboard campaign to celebrate the collaboration with 7-Eleven and the continued strong alignment of the two brands in conjunction with the new Jones Slurpee, the beverage company stated.
Earlier this year, 7-Eleven and Jones Soda teamed up to launch a line of premium bottled soft drinks sold under 7-Eleven's 7-Select private label brand, CSNews Online previously reported. The carbonated beverages come in five distinct flavors — Twisted Citrus, Fruit Loose, Cocolocolilinut, Tropical Slam Rambutan and Bluesberry Smash — and are lightly sweetened with cane sugar. They are available at participating 7-Eleven stores across the United States.
“7-Eleven has had great success with so-called ‘hometown hero’ Slurpee flavors, as well as our 7-Select premium bottled drinks created by Jones Soda,” said Dennis Phelps, 7-Eleven's vice president of proprietary beverages and fresh food. “With Orange & Cream, we think we have another winner for our North Pacific Slurpee-lovers.”
Irving-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises and licenses more than 10,700 7-Eleven stores in North America.
