BI-LO Launches Food Drive
MAULDIN, S.C. -- BI-LO, operator of 135 Golden Gallon convenience stores and 300 supermarkets in the Southeast, yesterday kicked off its 7th annual donation drive to assist local food banks.
In the past 6 years, BI-LO Bags Hunger has donated over $710,000 to help in the fight against hunger.
From July 1 through July 20, BI-LO stores will offer scan cards to their customers, in the shape of shopping bags. Customers are invited to make a donation of $1 or more to assist their local food bank or food pantry. In all, BI-LO stores have selected 132 local food charities to receive the donations.
"BI-LO Bags Hunger represents an ongoing commitment by BI-LO to help ease the pain of hunger in our communities," said Dean Cohagan, president and CEO of BI-LO. "Each year our customers and associates respond with greater giving to this program and we're so grateful to be able to support many worthwhile hunger programs."
