Budweiser Marks MLB Opening Week With Team-Branded Cans

ST. LOUIS -- As part of a sponsorship agreement between Anheuser-Busch and Major League Baseball Properties, Budweiser is celebrating MLB Opening Week with special cans and bottles. Available for a limited time only, more than 142 million cans and bottles of Budweiser products nationwide will feature the logos of 23 of MLB's 30 teams.

As the Official Beer Sponsor of Major League Baseball, Budweiser will also host pre-game "build-a-bars" at home openers in select markets. In St. Louis, Los Angeles, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay, the famous Budweiser Clydesdales will make a special delivery of Opening Day tickets to one lucky fan's home as part of a special text-to-win promotion, noted the company.

In August, Anheuser-Busch and Major League Baseball agreed to a six-year renewal of their sponsorship agreement -- a continuation of a 30-year relationship. Under the agreement, Budweiser was designated the presenting sponsor of MLB Opening Week and continued its exclusive rights within the malt beverage category to use the MLB marks and logos.

The 2013 baseball season gets underway on Sunday, March 31 when the Houston Astros host the Texas Rangers.
