Drum World Blends Tobacco

10/08/2008
The Drum brand of Republic Tobacco launched four unique tobacco blends from around the world—Perique, Latakia, Piloto Cubano and Turkish. Perique is native to New Orleans, and is cured in hickory barrels and pressed with oak blocks for a rich and spicy taste, according to the company. Latakia was originally grown on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean, and is cured over stone pine and oak wood fires, to give it a sweet, smoky flavor similar to a fine, vintage Port, the company stated. Piloto Cubano originates from Cuban tobaccos and has a rich and robust flavor, while the Turkish blend is a tobacco from the Orient that derives its mild yet rich and aromatic flavor from a curing process perfected over centuries, according to the company. Drum World Blends are packed six pouches per sleeve and 24 sleeves per case. An acrylic counter display is also available to merchandise the line.
