Getting Spicy
RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- Mott's, a leading brand in Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages' (CSAB) portfolio, unveiled plans today to introduce a full line of premium instant soluble hot spiced ciders in partnership with specialty hot beverage manufacturer International Marketing Systems (IMS). With the agreement, IMS will market the instant soluble hot spiced ciders under the Mott's name beginning in September 2005.
IMS will break new ground with its instant soluble Mott's Hot Spiced Ciders, offering consumers a variety of flavors including Original, Hot Apple Pie and Caramel, as well as varietals -- Granny Smith, Golden Delicious and Red Delicious. The ciders provide 100 percent of the U.S. RDA of vitamin C, are flavored with real apple juice and are caffeine-free. They will be available in grocery, mass and club stores, foodservice and office coffee service distribution beginning in the third quarter of 2005.
"For more than 165 years, Mott's has been synonymous with the delicious goodness of apples," said Lewis Goldstein, Director of Licensing at CSAB. "Mott's Hot Spiced Ciders will appeal to Mott's customers by giving them a new and warm, wonderful way to enjoy the Mott's brand."
IMS has designed a super premium individual-serve packaging and merchandising concept that will allow the consumer to hand-pick several flavors at a time to suit her palate and her family's preferences.
"Today's hot beverage consumer wants premium quality and flavor variety, and that's exactly what we are providing with the new Mott's Hot Spiced Ciders," explained Arnie D'Angelo, CEO, International Marketing Systems. "We are confident that our mouth-watering ciders, combined with the wholesome goodness of the Mott's brand, will encourage customers and Mott's loyal consumers to try this new product, and we're sure they will keep coming back for more."
