Gulf Oil Debuts Branded Credit Card Program and Branded Jeep Cherokee
Chelsea, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LLP has launched a Gulf MasterCard program that offers its customers discounts on gas and non-gas purchases.
The credit card allows customers use 10 percent of gas purchases towards future gas purchases for the cardholder's first 60 days. Additional free gas is also earned through non-gas purchases after that time.
"Our new Gulf MasterCard is a great way to help consumers save some money at the pumps," said Joe Petrowski, Gulf Oil's President and CEO. "Gulf Oil's expansion into credit cards is another way to help us build a brand that goes gas purchases and into other daily purchases that our customers may have."
In other Gulf news, the company has simultaneously launched the "Gulfmobile," a Jeep Cherokee wrapped in the brand's logo. The jeep will tour the country throughout the summer, looking for consumers' opinion of the brand.
The Jeep will distribute surveys, conduct contests and allow customers to sign up for its branded MasterCard.
Local contests will begin in September, when customers displaying Gulf bumper stickers on their vehicles can win free gas if the Jeep spots them.
"We're revving up our customer relationships," said Petrowski. "Gulf Oil is excited to be on the road this summer in this great grassroots program that build on our role as the neighborhood oil company."
Gulf Oil, based in Chelsea, Mass., distributes fuel to more than 2,400 Gulf branded gas stations throughout New England and New York. The company also operates 12 proprietary oil terminals and 50 additional supply terminals.
