SAN ANTONIO — H-E-B is adding tacos to the menu.
The Texas-based retailer opened its first True Texas Tacos location at its newest convenience store in San Antonio.
According to the company, True Texas Tacos will showcase a menu of more than a dozen breakfast and specialty tacos made with the fresh ingredients. Tacos range from traditional Tex-Mex offerings, such as bacon and egg or bean and cheese, to specialty bites like barbacoa and chopped Texas brisket.
Customers can also mix and match ingredients to make their own taco concoction.
All flour tortillas are made in house and corn tortillas are available upon request. A salsa and condiment bar accompanies the offering.
The True Texas Taco is located inside H-E-B's c-store at Bulverde Road and Loop 1604. Tacos are available from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The 9,000-square-foot convenience store also includes a South Flo Pizza, H-E-B's 10th location offering made-to-order pizza for $10.
"We're excited that our newest convenience store is filled with some terrific fare, from delicious tacos to on-point pizza," said Julie Bedingfield, H-E-B public affairs manager. "With our H-E-B convenience stores, we aim to offer our customers quality, value and convenience all under one roof."
In addition to foodservice, the store features 20 gas pumps, a car wash and an extensive wine and beer selection with a walk-in beer cooler. Marking H-E-B's 11th c-store, the location opened June 15.
