Mars Fantasy Racing Program New for C-store Operators

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Convenience store operators who are NASCAR fans can now combine business with pleasure with the new Mars Fantasy Racing program, available on the company's c-store exclusive Web site, www.Mars24seven.com. The program is designed to engage convenience retailers with NASCAR, and extend Mars' reach among the broad NASCAR fan base.

Launched in spring 2010, Mars24seven.com was designed exclusively for c-store operators as a resource center where they can find everything needed to create, enhance and maintain a thriving candy aisle, and to help drive overall category sales. Mars continually updates the site to provide current information on new products and initiatives, facts and statistics, links to individual Mars product Web sites and product information including specifications, commercials and images. The site also includes details for in-store displays, promotional calendars, sponsorship information and shopper marketing materials.

The new Mars Fantasy Racing program will keep c-store operators coming back to the Web site each week to play the game and check their own racing team's stats, the company stated.

C-store operators can simply register to play directly through the program Web site -- www.marsfantasyracing.com -- or through the program link on www.Mars24seven.com. Each week, players attempt to build the best racing team possible by picking one of six drivers from each of the five groups posted on the site. Each driver has a value between one and six points in his respective group, and players are allotted 23 "value points" each week (30 points during the Championship Challenge Season). Each week, players can log in to research drivers, view weekly and cumulative standings, and create or join a challenge league to share the fun with friends.

Those who earn the highest points by the season's end will be in the winner's circle. At the end of the NASCAR season, the grand-prize winner will be awarded a trip for two to Daytona valued at $5,000, including roundtrip airfare, accommodations for two nights and a $500 pre-paid gift card. Second- and third-place round winners will each receive Kyle Busch die-casts valued at $100.
