New Subsidiary Created to Support Independent College Stores
OBERLIN, Ohio -- The National Association of College Stores formed a subsidiary -- indiCo LLC -- to focus on retail innovation, merchandising strategy and data analytics specifically for the benefit of independent college stores. Formerly known as NACS Media Solutions, the new division also incorporates the association's Business Development, Information Technology and OnCampus Research divisions.
“[The National Association of Collegiate Stores] has always been, and will continue to be, a strong advocate for the entire collegiate retailing industry,” said Brian E. Cartier, the trade group's CEO. “The creation of indiCo ensures that the necessary resources are dedicated to providing research, products and services that will meet the specific needs of this important segment of the industry.”
indiCo will also help independent college stores adopt shared strategies and practices, introduce new retailing opportunities and provide leadership and innovation on many issues, noted Ed Schlichenmayer, who will serve as its president.
The Oberlin, Ohio-based National Association of College Stores is a professional trade association representing the collegiate retailing industry. It represents nearly 3,000 collegiate retailers and approximately 1,000 associate members.
