Open Pantry Is Off to the Races

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Open Pantry was announced today as the “Official Convenience Store of The Milwaukee Mile,” according to TruckSeries.com. This move by the Pleasant Prairie, Wis.-based convenience store chain will translate into summer-long savings for race fans on popular products ranging from Miller Beer to Golden Guernsey milk to Snickers candy bars, through obtaining an exclusive Open Pantry Pit Stop Card.

“Race fans have come to enjoy the convenience of their neighborhood Open Pantry stores. This alliance with The Milwaukee Mile for Open Pantry is the first step into tapping into the millions of diehard auto racing fans with what we believe are some very attractive offers,” commented Jim Fiene, Open Pantry senior vice president, sales and operations. “We're also giving away all-expenses-paid race trips, and welcome race fans to pick up their own Open Pantry Pit Stop Card to start saving on their next trip to work or to the racetrack.”

The Open Pantry Pit Stop Card is a key fob that displays the logos of the products on which consumers can get a discount by presenting the card at the register at any of the 42 Milwaukee-area and northern Illinois Open Pantry Food Mart locations.

“This is a ground-breaking way for some of our existing partners and new program partners to rally around the major efforts of Open Pantry, in offering not just pennies off, but savings of a full dollar off of items,” said Gary Girard, general manager of The Milwaukee Mile. “To have solid store brands like Coca-Cola and Miller High Life participate in this Open Pantry offering says a lot about the value of what we all see in this partnership.”

Discounts include $1 off the purchase of a gallon of Golden Guernsey milk; $1 off the price of any Open Pantry gourmet sandwich; two Snickers candy bars for $1; four-for-$1 Planters Nuts 1.75-ounce bag; a 32-ounce bottle of Powerade for 89 cents; $1 off the purchase of Miller High Life and Miller High Life Beer 12-packs; and Open Pantry 32-ounce fountain drinks for 49 cents.

“We wanted to give race fans an incentive to visit Open Pantry and the conveniences we offer, plus we wanted to thank race fans for their support of the Open Pantry Pit Stop Card by offering some exciting race trip giveaways,” Fiene said.
