JOHNSTON, Iowa — After two years of development, from concept to execution, Kum & Go LC opens the doors to its newest and largest store at 6 a.m. Thursday.
Located at 5225 NW 86th St. in Johnston, the 6,000-square-foot store debuts the c-store chain’s Marketplace design prototype, which combines contemporary style with function to provide customers with an experience unlike any other.
Convenience Store News was among a small group of media representatives who got a sneak peek Wednesday afternoon at Kum & Go's new look.
Customers are greeted by Kum & Go's foodservice offering as soon as they walk in the door.
Ampersand doughnuts are a new Kum & Go signature product.
This location is the first to offer indoor seating.
Customers not purchasing lottery or tobacco can be serviced more quickly at this station.
Kum & Go's bakery items are all-natural and free of any artificial ingredients.
Created with millennials in mind, customers can personalize their beverages with toppings and flavors.
The ampersand symbol is incorporated throughout the entire store.
The beer cave, CSD cooler and ice freezer are all connected and accessible to vendors from the inside.
Kum & Go offers an assortment of packages in the beer cave, with a special cooler outside of it for singles.
Quads give customers the opportunity to seek out their favorite snacks or find new ones.
Kum & Go has been making pizza fresh for 30 years. Now, it's making sandwiches made-to-order.
Kum & Go makes fresh-baked breads daily on the premises.
Customers can purchase chilled wine to enjoy a cold glass as soon as they get home.
The roller grill is located adjacent to salty snacks to leverage the segments' pairing.
