Pilot Flying J Promotes Brand at Trucking Show

DALLAS -- Pilot Flying J got interactive with professional drivers and attendees at The Great American Trucking Show (GATS) last week.

The show took place Aug. 21-23 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas and featured more than 500 exhibitors in a 500,000-square-foot space.

"Pilot Flying J is committed to making life better for America's drivers," said Anne LeZotte, Pilot Flying J's communications manager. "GATS is a great place to gather feedback from professional drivers because nothing is better than spending time with them face to face."

The Pilot Flying J booth hosted wellness activities with Pete Thomas, Pilot Flying J's health champion and NBC's "The Biggest Loser" season two at-home winner. Thomas invited drivers to join "Team Pete" by demonstrating ways to stay healthy, even when on the road.

"Team Pete" is Pilot Flying J's new driver wellness movement that is designed by drivers and encourages healthy living choices involving food and exercise.

Additionally, professional drivers had the opportunity to nominate fellow drivers to be named a "Road Warrior." The Road Warriors project was started by Pilot Flying J to recognize and applaud the hardworking men and women who move America forward as professional drivers.

"We're excited for the chance to tell drivers about new stores we've recently opened across the country, upgrades that we're making to restrooms and shower facilities, more lanes of DEF [diesel exhaust fluid] at the pump and new restaurant offerings, among other things," LeZotte said.

Drivers stopping by the Pilot Flying J booth were able to swipe their MyRewards cards to receive 200 to 5,000 free rewards points, along with other gifts and giveaways including lanyards, hats and coupons for coffee and fountain drinks. Denny's was also on-site at the Pilot Flying J booth with a prize wheel and meal giveaways.

Pilot Flying J has more than 650 locations in North America. The family-owned company is based in Knoxville, Tenn.
