Sheetz Completes First Wave of New W. Va. Stores

ALTOONA, Pa. – Sheetz Inc. opened its fourth store in the Huntington area of West Virginia yesterday, thus finishing the first development phase of this new market for the convenience chain, based here.
In addition to the new 5,000-square-foot location, at 104 Route 19 in Hurricane, Sheetz opened three other area stores this summer in Barboursville, Milton and Huntington.
"The opening of this store solidifies our presence in Southern West Virginia," Stan Sheetz, president and CEO, said in a statement. "The others stores that opened earlier this summer have been well received by people in this community. We hope to grow and become an important part of their daily lives."
The Hurricane store officially opened yesterday morning, and employees hosted a grand opening celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that afternoon. As part of the celebration, the company made a $7,500 donation to Hurricane High School.
Also yesterday, Sheetz celebrated the opening of a new store in North Canton, Ohio. The 5,500 square-foot location, at 1415 Pittsburg Ave., officially opened to the public following a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Sheetz made a donation to the Character Counts in North Canton program to mark the occasion.
"Canton has been a great community for us to be a part of since 2003," Stan Sheetz stated. "We are looking forward to expanding that relationship to include people in North Canton to provide them with the same excellent service for years to come."

Both new stores offer fresh food items, including the MTGo! and Shweetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, donuts and muffins, along with the signature MTO line of Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more. Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista, are also available at both of the new locations.

Customers can order hand-made specialty coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas -- hot, frozen or iced. Frozen fruit smoothies round out this popular specialty drink menu. For those who prefer to pour their own, Sheetz offers premium brewed self-serve coffees made from 100 percent Arabica beans in a variety of flavors, such as Breakfast Blend, Serious Dark Roast, 100 percent Colombian and Hazelnut.

Sheetz now operates more than 360 convenience locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.
