Swiss Farms Enlists Customers to Name Its Brand Rooster

BROOMALL, Pa. — Swiss Farms is inviting customers of all ages to help name the Swiss Farms Rooster mascot. Kids, teenagers and adults can participate by completing a MadLibs-style letter on the drive-thru convenience store chain's website.

Although the Swiss Farms Rooster has been a prominent part of the company's branding and logo for nearly 50 years, it has never had a name. Customers are welcome to submit anything from a traditional name, to a currently fashionable one, to a chicken-themed moniker.

The Rooster mascot will don Swiss Farms apparel and appear at community events, schools and store promotions under the new name.

"The Swiss Farms Rooster, much like the legacy store silos, is an instantly recognizable part of our trusted brand," said Swiss Farms CEO Scott Simon. "We thought, after nearly five decades, it was about time the Rooster had a chance to play a more active role, and hope our loyal customers will have fun helping us come up with a creative and fitting name."

Submissions are being accepted through Nov. 11, and the public will be able to vote on the top three names starting Nov. 14. The winning name will be announced Nov. 21.

The person who nominates the winning name will receive bragging rights and vouchers for a month's worth of free ice cream in the form of a free pint of any flavor of Bassett's ice cream per week.

Swiss Farms operates 13 drive-thru market locations in Pennsylvania.
