Valero Launches Fund-Raising Campaign
SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corp. has launched its annual Children's Miracle Network fund-raising campaign in its nearly 1,200 U.S. retail locations. Through Oct. 11, customers can participate in the "Miracle Balloon" campaign by donating to the Children's Miracle Network at any of Valero's Diamond Shamrock, Ultramar, Valero and Beacon stores.
Throughout the campaign, customers who make a $1 or $5 donation to Children's Miracle Network will have a paper "Miracle Balloon" featuring their name displayed in the store. Depending on the amount contributed, customers will also receive a buy-one, get-one-free coupon for either a 20-ounce bottle or a 12-pack of 7-UP, A&W Root Beer, Sunkist or 7-UP Plus.
The "Miracle Balloon" is the well-known symbol of Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals throughout the country.
"We're proud to be a Children's Miracle Network sponsor again this year. By doing our part to raise funds for this worthy charity, we can help the children in all of our communities who are in need of critical healthcare services," said Gary Arthur, Valero's senior vice president of retail and specialty products marketing. "And, with the generosity of our customers and the hard work of our store employees, I'm sure this will be our best campaign yet."
During last year's "Miracle Balloon" campaign, Valero raised more than $915,000 for hospitals located in the many communities where Valero has retail operations. This year, Valero expects to raise a total of $1 million for 36 Children's Miracle Network hospitals in nine of the states where the company has retail stores.
