LOS ANGELES — Snacks and baseball are a perfect fit, just ask Toomgis, the friendly ampm snack giant.

Building on the retail chain's partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Toomgis threw out the first pitch when the Dodgers faced off against the Boston Red Sox recently.

Toomgis — with hot dogs for fingers, snack treats for hands, licorice for hair and body full of snacks — teamed up with David Lopez, Mexican-American vine sensation, better known as "Juan" in his self-created series "The Life of Juan" as he trained for his turn on the pitching mound.

The Dodgers and ampm have been partners for two years. In 2015, ampm opened its first convenience store inside Dodger Stadium, which offers snacks, coffee, soda and beer.

In the spring, the retailer began selling Dodger Dogs at participating ampm stores in the Los Angeles area, as CSNews Online previously reported.

With 1.4 million fans and consumers on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and Twitter, ampm has created "a very entertaining platform for the brand as they look to engage with consumers in unique ways to deliver Too Much Good Stuff," the company said in a statement.

The convenience store chain is a division of BP America Inc. and operates in six western states: Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
