The National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) has promoted Brendan Moyer to director of Internet strategy and development.

Moyer joined NACS in 1999 as an intern assisting NACS's exhibition staff, where he helped process requests, inquiries and applications for more t han 1,000 exhibitors and 20,000 attendees for NACS’s annual Convention and Exposition. In the ensuing years, he has been promoted several times, first to assistant Web administrator, then Web administrator and later Web development and administration manager.

"This latest promotion reflects Brendan's accomplishments in overseeing and growing the content on our Web site, www.nacsonline.com, and his leadership in charting the site’s future direction," said Jack Loder, NACS vice president of information technology.

In other people news, Sysco Corp. named Jonathon R. Gottfried assistant vice president, merchandising. He currently serves as director, merchandising, in the beverage department and will assume his new position effective immediately.

Mr. Gottfried joined Sysco in 2004 in his current role. Prior to becoming associated with Sysco, he held various sales managerial positions in the beverage industry. While he was employed with Sun Orchard Inc. as national sales director from 2000 to 2003, he led that company's relationship with Sysco, earning Sun Orchard the honor of being chosen one of Sysco's Top 100 Suppliers.
