Quarles Petroleum Acquires Two Virginia Oil Cos.

FREDRICKSBURG, Va. — Quarles Petroleum Inc. purchased Whiting Oil Co. and Northern Neck Oil Co. from Petroleum Marketers Inc. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Whiting Oil and Northern Neck Oil provide heating oil, gasoline and diesel products to both residential and commercial customers. Whiting is based in Culpeper, Va., while Northern Neck is based in Warsaw, Va.

All of the associates at Quarles look forward to extending the same level of excellent customer service and reliability to our new customers in Warsaw and Culpeper,” said Paul Giambra, president and CEO of Quarles.

Whiting and Northern Neck both have great reputations for providing petroleum products and services to their customers, Giambra added.

“Quarles expects to have a smooth transition and to continue the tradition of customer service that our customer expect,” the chief executive said.

In addition to heating oil, gasoline and diesel, Fredricksburg-based Quarles operates 120 unattended commercial fueling stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The company serves customers in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
